TWICE

  • TWICE Drew 550,000 Fans in North America—How Are They Still Growing After 10 Years?

Most K-pop groups are fighting to stay relevant after a few years.

TWICE is doing something very different.

More than a decade after debuting, the nine-member girl group just completed one of the biggest tours of its career.

    The numbers are enormous.

    81 shows.
    44 regions.
    550,000 fans in North America.
    640,000 fans in Japan.

And now TWICE is turning that massive tour into a live vinyl release.

So perhaps the real question isn’t how TWICE survived for more than 10 years.

    It’s this:

How are they still getting bigger?

    550,000 Fans in North America

TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” world tour began in July 2025 and concluded with three sold-out finale concerts at Seoul’s KSPO Dome in July 2026.

Across the entire tour, TWICE performed 81 shows across 44 regions in Asia, Oceania, North America and Europe.

    But one number stands out.

The North American leg included 35 concerts in 20 cities and attracted approximately 550,000 fans.

According to JYP Entertainment, that was the largest North American tour attendance ever recorded by a K-pop girl group.

And TWICE didn’t achieve that by simply playing a couple of giant stadium shows.

The group expanded its geographic reach, adding cities such as Boston, Montreal, Vancouver and Washington among 13 first-time stops on the North American leg.

    That’s important.

    TWICE wasn’t just asking:

“Can we fill a huge venue in Los Angeles?”

They were testing something much harder:

“How many cities can support TWICE?”

Japan Was Even Bigger: 640,000 Fans

    Then there’s Japan.

TWICE’s Japanese dates attracted approximately 640,000 concertgoers during the tour, according to JYP Entertainment.

The biggest milestone came at Tokyo’s National Stadium.

TWICE became the first foreign artist to hold a solo concert at the venue, performing three shows there. Those concerts alone drew roughly 240,000 people.

    Think about that number.

That’s around 80,000 people per night.

For a Korean girl group more than a decade into its career.

TWICE Is Supposed to Be in the “Later” Stage of a K-Pop Career

This is what makes the story unusual.

    TWICE debuted in October 2015.

    In K-pop terms, that’s a long career.

Many groups experience their biggest commercial explosion during their first several years, followed by fewer group activities as members begin solo careers, acting projects or other individual work.

TWICE has certainly expanded into individual activities too.

But the group itself hasn’t disappeared.

Instead, its touring business has become enormous.

    That’s the interesting contradiction.

TWICE is older as a group.
But its touring map is getting bigger.

Reddit Fans Noticed Something Strange About the Tour

The scale of the tour also created an interesting discussion among fans.

Some observers initially questioned why certain North American dates didn’t appear to sell out instantly.

But Reddit fans pointed out something important:

TWICE was offering dramatically more tickets across dramatically more shows.

One highly discussed thread noted that the North American leg consisted of 35 dates, arguing that comparing the speed of individual ticket sales with earlier tours ignored how much the total capacity had expanded.

Another fan discussion predicted that “THIS IS FOR” could become significantly larger than TWICE’s previous “READY TO BE” tour because of the expanded North American and Asian schedules.

These are fan interpretations rather than official attendance analysis.

But they highlight an important distinction:

    Selling one stadium is impressive.

Building enough demand to perform dozens of times across an entire continent is a different kind of test.

The Tour Is Over—but TWICE Isn’t Finished With It

Now JYP is extending the life of the tour.

On October 16, TWICE will release “THIS IS FOR WORLD TOUR FINALE in SEOUL – LIVE” as a special vinyl.

The record will feature live versions of songs performed during the group’s July Seoul finale.

Those concerts used a fully opened 360-degree stage configuration, while the final night was also streamed internationally through Beyond LIVE.

The setlist itself reflected how unusual TWICE’s position has become.

Newer songs such as “THIS IS FOR” appeared alongside older hits including “TT,” “CHEER UP,” “What Is Love?” and “YES or YES.”

A new fan can discover TWICE today.

An older fan can remember TWICE from 2016.

Both can attend the same concert.

That catalog may be one of the group’s biggest advantages.

Maybe Longevity Isn’t TWICE’s Biggest Achievement

It’s easy to describe TWICE as a K-pop group with impressive longevity.

But longevity simply means staying around.

These tour numbers suggest something more interesting.

    TWICE hasn’t merely remained active.

Its live audience has expanded across more cities, more countries and some very large venues.

    550,000 fans in North America.

    640,000 in Japan.

    81 shows across 44 regions.

And a tour important enough to preserve on vinyl after it ended.

After more than a decade, TWICE doesn’t look like a group simply trying to hold onto its past.

The more interesting question may be:

How much bigger can a K-pop group become after its 10th anniversary?
