Is “How It’s Done” Actually the Most K-Pop Song in KPop Demon Hunters?

“Golden” became the phenomenon.

“Soda Pop” became impossible to forget.

“Your Idol” gave the Saja Boys their darkest moment.

But if someone asked which KPop Demon Hunters song sounds most like it could have been released by a real K-pop girl group, there is a strong candidate:

“How It’s Done.”

And that was not an accident.

It Had to Sound Like Real K-Pop

“How It’s Done” appears almost immediately in the movie.

Rumi, Mira and Zoey are fighting demons aboard a plane while simultaneously introducing HUNTR/X to the audience.

That means the song has an enormous job.

Within minutes, viewers need to believe these three women are both elite demon hunters and global K-pop stars.

Executive music producer Ian Eisendrath said the filmmakers needed something that felt like a genuine K-pop hit, with the explosive energy of hearing BLACKPINK for the first time.

Songwriter Danny Chung went even further.

He said “How It’s Done” has BLACKPINK DNA in it and became the prototype for the musical relationship between the filmmakers and THEBLACKLABEL.

It Introduces HUNTR/X Without Explaining Them

That may be the smartest thing about the song.

The movie does not spend twenty minutes showing HUNTR/X becoming famous.

They are already famous.

They are already powerful.

And they know exactly what they are doing.

“How It’s Done” communicates all of that through attitude, rap, vocals, choreography and action.

Fans noticed it too. One popular Reddit discussion argued that using such a strong song before the title sequence immediately established how ambitious the movie was.

Could HUNTR/X Get Another Song Like It?

That makes “How It’s Done” especially interesting for KPop Demon Hunters 2.

The sequel will almost certainly need to show us what HUNTR/X has become after everything that happened in the first movie.

Will their sound change?

Will Rumi’s new identity change their music?

Or will they need another aggressive performance that reminds everyone exactly who HUNTR/X is?

Whatever happens, “How It’s Done” established the standard.

“Golden” may represent their dream.

“What It Sounds Like” represents what they learned.

But “How It’s Done” is HUNTR/X walking into the room and telling everyone who they are.

And even after all the soundtrack’s enormous hits, it may still be the song that sounds most like HUNTR/X could step out of the movie and debut tomorrow.
